    On November 29th, Lewis County Elks Lodge sponsored a deer hunt for local veterans at DoubleCreek, right here in Hohenwald. Between hunters, guides, and volunteers, 13 people participated in the day's event.     The last tournament of the year unfolded Saturday, November 15, 2025, on Pin Oak Lake in Natchez Trace State Park, and it brought out some of the most determined anglers in the region. Twenty-six boats launched at daylight, carrying 47 anglers ready to grind through a chilly fall bite.     Lewis County made the long trip to Huntingdon on Friday night and ran into a Mustangs team firing on all cylinders, falling 49 to 22 in the second round of the playoffs.     The Tennessee Farmer of the Year program has been revamped. A team effort by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation, the program will honor the state’s rich agricultural history across all three regions of Tennessee while recognizing the state’s top farmers.
