Help with Medicare

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP/SMP) provides information and counseling on Medicare issues, including the unbiased assistance needed with comparisons for Prescription Drug Plans and Medicare Advantage Plans during Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period. [October 15 – December 7] We can also provide screening for extra help with Medicare costs. Due to COVID-19 the Mount Pleasant office is currently closed to the public.

Plans are to restart the Welcome to Medicare – ABC’s of Medicare Class in the near future using the Facebook Live platform. Everyone is invited to like the Facebook Page which can be found at South Central Tennessee Area Agency on Aging and Disability .

The class is for those new to Medicare or anyone who has Medicare questions. Topics covered are: What is the difference between Medicare Part A and B? Do I wait until full retirement age before enrolling in Medicare? Should I sign up for Medicare if I am still working? How do I choose the best Part D plan?
