December 22, 1960

A still and ten gallons of whiskey were destroyed by Highway Patrolman Paul Hedge, Sheriff Alton McLemore, and Deputy Sheriff Henry Garrison. The still was located on Napier Road about 1.5 miles south of Rudolph’s Store. A man was arrested at the scene.

Robin Williams won first prize in the Home Lighting Contest. The homes were judged by out-of-town judges.

Horace Lawson was re-appointed to serve three years as a member of the Lewis County Board of Soil Conservation Supervisors.
