Elks Lodge makes donation to the library
February 11, 2021
The Lewis County Elks Lodge gave a $4,500 donation to the Lewis County Public Library during the library's board meeting last Thursday.
The proceeds were a part of a COVID-19 relief grant that the Elks had secured, said Elks Lodge Grant Coordinator Brandy Rippeto Bennett.
The library plans to use these funds to purchase to ten additional wifi extenders to enable Internet outside the walls of the library and into the parking lots adjacent to the library. It will also be used to purchase ten new mobile hot spots with their waterproof cases, making wifi available to kids who otherwise would not have access. These mobile hot spots can be checked out for seven days and taken home to aid students with online classes.
"These are an extremely important service that we provide and we are extremely grateful to the Elks Lodge for helping our ability to serve our community," said Crystal Nash, Director and Archivist of the Lewis County Public Library.
