MLEC plan membership meeting

October 28, 2021

Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative’s annual and district Lewis County membership meeting is set for October 28, at Lewis County High School. Voting and registration for door prizes is from 5-7 p.m. The meeting will be called to order at 7 p.m. Incumbent Bill Webb and Travis Ray Hinson are on the ballot for a four-year term on the MLEC Board of Directors for this district.

In addition to the election, members will have the opportunity to register for door prizes and see the MLEC 2021 Annual Report video. Due to limited seating and social distancing for COVID wellness, guests are not required to stay for the business meeting to be eligible for door prizes. There will be five, $100 bill credits and two, $250 bill credits given. Additionally, each adult in attendance will receive a free gift (while supplies last).

“Changing the voting time to accommodate more schedules and social distancing, as well as the requirement to be present for door prizes is different for us,” says MLEC President and CEO Keith Carnahan. “But, out of an abundance of caution for our members and employees, it was the most responsible choice. While members are encouraged to stay for the business meeting and hear election results, we understand if they choose to leave after voting. We are foregoing a poster contest and a full night of fellowship with our members, but it is the right thing to do.”

Details of the business meeting and elections will be shared following the events on local and social media as well as an upcoming issue of The Tennessee Magazine.
