Free Covid 19 testing in county

February 10, 2022

If you have worries about Covid 19 tests, or if you do not have a way of getting to a testing facility perhaps you might consider this. Covid 19 tests happen every Tuesday and Thursday here in Hohenwald at the Lewis County Health Department on Smith Avenue. The tests are free, and you will know very quickly if you have contacted the virus.

But you may be elderly and have no way of getting to the Health Department and back, then you may also consider this as well in that Lewis County Senior Citizens provides a bus service for $2.00 for a one-way ticket. So, by just phoning the Transportation Director of SCATS, Reynolds Casrill, at the Senior Citizens Center at 931-796-5558 and telling him you need a ride to the Lewis County Health Department at Smith Avenue on the date given you by the Lewis County Health Department, he will take your name and address and arrange for a bus to pick you up and take you to the facility to be tested. If the Health Department workers are unable to conduct the testing on the bus, the driver will assist you into the Health Department to be tested. This includes people in wheelchairs, and if needed, can arrange a time for you to be picked up and taken home again the same day. The round trip will cost as little as $4.00 if you live in the town and $6.00 round trip if you live in the county. You can also pick up a Covid 19 testing kit at the department. Two free kits are available to each patient.

Cut this out and put it on your refrigerator door for your convenience. Lewis County, and the Senior Citizens Center can help you in so many ways. Use them, the programs were set up for you.
