6th Grade Basketball

The 6th Grade Lewis County Panthers hosted games at Lewis County Middle School on Saturday, February 12th with games against 6th grade boys teams from Columbia Academy and Brooks of Killen, Alabama.

In their first game of the afternoon, the 6th Grade Panthers took on Columbia Academy’s 6th grade boys team. The Panthers sprinted out in front of the Columbia Academy boys in the first half, limiting CA to only 4 points in the half while building a 23-4 lead at halftime. The second half was much closer, as Columbia Academy fought to get back in the game scoring 18 in the half but Lewis County pulled away to a big 45-22 win in their opener. Cruz Forrester led the Panthers with 13 points, Nolan Whitehead added 12 points, Brogan Arledge had 10 points, Jaxon Long 7 points, and Gavyn Barber 4 points.

In their second and final game of the day the Panthers faced the team from Brooks of Killen, Alabama. The game was a tight, back-and-forth game in the opening half as Cruz Forrester’s 7 points led the Panthers to a 20-19 halftime lead. The game remained close throughout the second half as Brooks was able to take the lead late in the second half and hold on for a 36-32 win over the Panthers. Cruz Forrester had 11 points for the Panthers, Brogan Arledge added 7 points, Jaxon Long 6, Nolan Whitehead 4, and Gavyn Barber and Kanon McDonald 2 points each.

The 6th grade Panthers finished the day 1-1 in TVBA action.
