Power Pole Inspection Schedule

Beginning the week of April 4, Power Pole Maintenance Company will start electric pole inspections on behalf of Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative. Crews will begin in Hickman County and are expected to move to Perry County in May and Lewis County by late summer.

"Identifying and correcting problems such as weakened or broken poles before they create an outage goes a long way in controlling costs and keeping the lights on," says MLEC System Engineer Brent Warf.

Power Pole Maintenance Company vehicles will be marked with an "MLEC Contractor" logo. Contractors will carry identification cards and be wearing yellow vests with the PPMC logo. The evaluation typically takes a few minutes with some occasional photographs for documentation. The home or business owner does not need to be present, as all work is conducted outside.

"It is normal to be concerned when someone unfamiliar is on your property," says MLEC President and CEO Keith Carnahan. "To help put everyone at ease, we keep them informed about the work being done and only choose trusted contractors."

MLEC conducts pole inspections across its five-county service area (Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lewis and Perry counties) on a rotational basis. Humphreys and Houston counties will be checked in a different cycle.
