Mike Webb announces candidacy for re-election

Mike Webb announces his candidacy for re-election as Lewis County Trustee. I have been privileged to serve Lewis County as Trustee since November of 2013. I am a lifelong resident of Lewis County. I am married to Samantha Barnes Webb, and we have two sons, Jordan and Carter. I obtained my Certified Public Administrators Certificate through the University of Tennessee. I am proud to serve on the advisory committee for Davis House, as well as serving as a board member for the Lewis County Senior Citizens' Center. I am a member of the Middle Tennessee Trustees Association as well as the Tennessee Trustees Association.

Since becoming your Trustee in November of 2013, I have implemented the checking system for the Trustee's office to operate. This ensures that funds are available prior to expenditures being made. I have ensured that duties are segregated in the office as well. I have worked diligently to get the best return on invested funds for our county and school. I also take pride in the audit record that we have had for the last nine years.

I'm asked many times what exactly does a Trustee do? A county trustee is responsible for the collection of property taxes, however; a trustee does not set the tax rate, or assess property in which your tax bill is calculated. It is the Trustee's responsibility to invest any idle funds that are available. Accounting for and keeping accurate records of all funds received by the county is also an important responsibility of the Trustee. It has been an honor for me to serve Lewis County these last few years. I humbly ask for your vote on August 4, 2022.
