Lola Marie is an Amazon Yellow Nape Parrot, and as the silver bracelet around her ankle indicates, she was one of the very first parrots to be brought over to the United States from the Amazon.

When Stapleton found the bright-eyed bird, Lola Marie was already around 25 years old. Yellow Napes can live up to 120 years old in the wild, but because Lola has been domesticated, her lifespan is an estimated 80 to 90 years. Stapleton says household items that...
