Banner dedicated to elected mayors and councilmen

This banner is dedicated to elected mayors, councilmen past, present and future of Hohenwald, Tennessee, in loving memory of Mayor S. Dol Willis, my Dad.

I grew up with a father that loved Hohenwald and had a vision of what he could do to make life better for everyone. What could a poor country boy with little education contribute to this town. He started his own businesses from scratch but always had time for Civic Club meetings, Council meetings, Church meetings and so on. He could engineer things in his mind and how to carry them out as well as a college educated fellow with a degree.

If my Dad could see how Hohenwald has developed and all the citizens that have come together to make this a better place, we should all be so proud.

What is an elected official, mayor or otherwise? Why would anyone want this thankless job? If you are right, you won't hear it, but if things don't go so well, they never hear the end of it.

All people seeking election or re-election must have some sort of idea of what can be done to keep our town and it's government operating smoothly. Sometimes I think they are a little crazy but that's what it takes to keep our freedom in the land of the free.
