Heather Demrest, 29, turned onto Piney Creek Road from Highway 412 when a heavy rain caused her to lose control of her maroon Honda Pilot, and hydroplane into a steep and flooded creek bed.

The vehicle flipped on its way down into the creek bed. With water up to the vehicle's fenders, Demrest was able to escape the vehicle and climb up the steep incline to safety.

The Lewis County Fire, Sheriff's Department, and Maury Regional EMS personnel quickly responded to the accident. Tennessee Highway Patrol Officer Brandon Dixon worked the accident.
