The Lewis County High School Panthers traveled to Adamsville on Thursday night, September 29th for Region 6AA football action taking on the Adamsville Cardinals.

The Lewis County defense was strong in the opening quarter, forcing two Cardinal turnovers and holding the Adamsville offense to only 21 yards in the first quarter of play.

Midway through the first the Panthers would get the scoring started as Brycen McDonald hooked up with Chaz Sparkman on a 9-yard touchdown strike and Timothy Brown would add the point after to give Lewis County a 7-0 lead.

The Panthers would add to their first quarter total again with just under two minutes remaining in the period as McDonald would connect with Dyer Barnes on a 27-yard touchdown pass, but Brown's kick fell off target and the Panthers took a 13-0 lead to the end of the first.

Lewis County would find paydirt again about a minute into the second quarter as Brycen McDonald ran into the end zone on a 6-yard touchdown run and Brown added the PAT to make it a 20-0 game.

Adamsville would finally put together a scoring drive on their next possession, taking roughly a minute and a half off the clock and scoring on a 27-yard touchdown run and a successful point after to make it 20-7.

Adamsville's defense would get the ball back for their offense and the Cardinal offense would respond, breaking off a 69-yard touchdown run and make the point after to cut the score to 20-14.

Lewis County would respond, after Adamsville scored fourteen straight points, as Brycen McDonald would complete his third touchdown pass of the half, this time finding Bentley Kelsey on a 9-yard touchdown pass but a failed conversion made the score 26-14.

Adamsville would make one last attempt to score in the first half of the game, but Dyer Barnes would jump a slant route, pick off the pass, and return the interception 91-yards for another Panther score. After the touchdown the two-point conversion pass failed and the Panthers took a 32-14 lead in at halftime.

The Panthers would waste little time adding to their lead after the break as McDonald would connect again with Barnes just over a minute into the third quarter, this time on a 24-yard touchdown pass. Lincoln Brewer would add the two-point run to extend the Panther lead to 40-14.

Adamsville would respond minutes later, punching it in from three yards out, but missed the point after kick and Lewis County held a 40-20 advantage.

Lewis County would score once more in the third quarter on a 24-yard strike from McDonald to Barnes, their third of the game, and Brown added the point after kick to give the Panthers a 47-20 lead moving into the final twelve minutes of regulation.

Adamsville would tack on a 9-yard touchdown run in the fourth and convert the point after, but the Panthers lead was too much, and Lewis County took the big region win 47-27.

Brycen McDonald was 17 for 28 passing for 200 yards and 5 touchdown passes with 1 interception. Dyer Barnes had 8 receptions for 124 yards and 3 touchdowns, Bentley Kelsey 7 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown, and Chaz Sparkman 2 catches for 13 yards and a touchdown. Lincoln Brewer carried the ball 21 times for 156 yards, Micah Godfrey 5 for 24, Brycen McDonald 6 carries for 22 yards and a touchdown, and Chaz Sparkman 2 carries for 8 yards.
