Tim (Stik) Cotham: When you used to hear that name years and years ago, it was for a different reason, Now look at the life he's living - such an accomplishment. Just goes to show you where hard work and dedication will get you.
He is such a pillar of the community, such a hard worker and will lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He has been a big part of lots of different things behind the scenes here in Hohenwald.
If you have not been to one of the Recovery through Christ meetings on Sunday nights at 7:00 p.m., at Blondy Church, you are missing out. This isn't just for recovering addicts, it's for everybody and anybody, Mr. Cotham helped get this started.
Mr. Cotham had his hands in the movie Hope Lives in Hohenwald, as well as helping with Hope Center Ministries here in Hohenwald. He is a busy man, and he has an amazing story.
His many accomplishments are why he was chosen for the person of the week. If you know him personally you know how hard he work's and everything he is involved in locally.
And if you don't know him, here is a little information for you to read and get to know him a little better,.
Q.) Where did you grow up?
A.) I grew up in the projects of Hohenwald, Tennessee.
Q.) What is one of your fondest childhood memories?
A.) I guess I would have to say when I got my very first dirt bike. Memories like that were few and far between.
Q.) What did you want to be as a kid? What did you become?
A.) Well I always wanted to be a truck driver like my daddy. And well I became a God fearing Man.
Q.) Who was/is your biggest role model?
A.) Alton (Mac) McLemore, not only my role model but my best friend.
Q.) What are some of your hobbies/how do you like to spend your free time?
A.) I enjoy golfing, fishing and doing all I can to help people.
Q.) If you could go anywhere, in or out of the states, where would it be?
A.) Man that's a hard one because I have been everywhere, but with Tennessee being so beautiful, I would have to say the mountains of Tennessee.
Q.) What is one of your favorite songs?
A.) Amazing Grace, because of the lyrics, saved a wretch like me, and he did just that.
Q.) What is one of your favorite things about living in Hohenwald?
A.) Man the people, it's home you know, plus we have one of the best community's there is. We all come together when we are needed.
Q.) What skill would you like to master? Why?
A.) Man to master the skill of being humble. Man the reason I say that is because when you can really humble yourself, God will lift you up.
Q.) Is there any life advice you could give to our readers?
A.) Well I may say too much about this. My advice would be don't ever say never, because look at me, I am living proof anyone can change. I have to give all the glory to Jesus because without him none of this would have been possible.
Q.) Is there anything you would like to add that my questions may not have touched on?
A.) Yes, yes there is and I hope I don't upset anyone with my words, But there is a growing epidemic and it's killing our babies, and we as a community need to know that it does and will not discriminate. It's no where near as bad as it was but it is still here. We can't close our eyes to this, we as a community can fight this.
