Osbie Armstrong

Osbie Lee Armstrong went to be with his Lord on October 23, 2022. He was born on April 7, 1932, in Lewis County.

Upon graduating from Lewis County High School, he entered the Army and served his country during the Korean War. On returning to Tennessee, he moved to Nashville and began working in the printing industry where he was a master pressman for over 35 years.

He attended worship at Central Church of Christ where he met Anne, his wife of 65 years. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father and grandfather to grandsons, Logan and Eric Armstrong and granddaughter, Erin Craven.

Lee enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing with family and friends. After retirement, he worked as the Benevolence Officer at Central Church of Christ for 20 years helping those in need in the downtown community. He served as Deacon, Elder and was active in visitation and outreach programs at Central.

Lee is honored by his wife, Anne (Burgess); son, Anthony (Julie); daughter, Tonya (Jim) Craven; sister-in-laws, Shirley Armstrong and Carol Burgess; brother-in-law, LTC Billy R. Burgess (Linda); and loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary (Maggie) Armstrong; sister, Dorothy Churchwell; and brothers, Sammie Armstrong and James Armstrong.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 27, from 10:00 – 1:00 at Lebanon Road Church of Christ with Memorial Service to begin at 1:00. Lee will be laid to rest immediately following the service in Brush Creek Cemetery, Brush Creek, Tennessee.
