Martha Haywood

Martha Bennet Haywood left this world on November 1, 2022. She was married to the laye Wilburn Haywood Jr.. She and Wilburn were married for 57 ½ years.

She is survived by her two children, Audrey (John) Reeves and Donnie (Mary) Haywood; seven grandchildren, Tracy (Ronnie) Morales, Christie (Ben) Moore, Anda James, Jason Haywood, Wayne (Jennifer) Cochran, Donna (Tracy) Hall, and Angela Reeves; sister, Rebecca (James) Graham; brother, Johnny (Judy) Bennett; seventeen great-grandchildren and seven great, great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Lester and Louise Bennett, and brother, Charles Bennett.

She was a member of Gordonsburg Church of Christ since 1964. She loved her family as well as her church family. She was a dedicated housewife, stay-at-home mother, and helped on the family farm. She loved sewing and quilting, thus having enough quilts for all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was quite a collector of unique items and enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift shops. She was loved by her family and those around her.

A service for Martha was held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Martha will be laid to rest next to her husband at Bailey Cemetery.

Gordonsburg Church of Christ provided a meal after the burial.

Williams Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
