2022 Election Results

Election Commissioner Rusty Isbell reported that a total of 8,372 residents are registered to vote and 3,416 people voted in the November 8. The 2020 Census reported that Lewis County had 12,131 in population.

Anyone who would like a copy of election results, by district or overall numbers, can go by the Election Commission office Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:00, or call us at 796-3191.

Lewis Countians voted as follows:

Constitutional Amendment #1

A total of 2,325 voted yes; 847 voted no.

Amendment 1 eliminates any requirement that a person must be part of a labor union to be hired.

Constitutional Amendment #2

A total of 2,171 voted yes; 752 voted no.

Amendment 2 allows the state Senate or House speaker to temporarily hold the position of acting governor without resigning their position, though they could not preside or vote.

Constitutional Amendment #3

A total of 2,287 voted yes; 748 voted no.

Amendment 3 says slavery and involuntary servitude are “forever prohibited” with one exception: convicted inmates working.

Constitutional Amendment #4

A total of 1940 voted yes; 1,108 voted no.

Amendment 4 deletes a provision that prohibited “ministers of the gospel” and priests from serving in the Tennessee General Assembly.

Jody Barrett - 2,655 votes

Candie Loreeta Hedge - 617 votes

Leonard D. (Lenny) Ladner - 47 votes

United States House of Representatives District 5

Andy Ogles - 2,670 votes

Heidi Campbell - 653 votes

Derrick Brantley - 26 votes
