Lewis County Shertiff Department Deputies responded to a vehicle off the roadway and into the river early Thursday morning, December 15 around 1 a.m. Four occupants in the Chevrolet pick-up including the driver, Dustin Hall, escaped without injury. They were traveling south on Sickler Road and crossing the low water bridge over the Buffalo River when they were swept into the river due to heavy rains. The truck is registered to Josh Burns of Hohenwald, but Deputy Dustin Carroll stated that Burns had sold the vehicle to Hall, also of Hohenwad, and Hall just hadn't changed the paperwork yet.
