Wherry sentenced in case

Darryl Thomas Wherry, in the news recently due to his business Paw Paw’s Porch Pet Spa’s involvement with Boomer, a pet dog owned by customer Barri Comer, was seen in court for the first time Thursday, January 5, 2022, before the honorable Judge Michael E. Hinson.

Wherry pled no contest and was found guilty of theft under $1000. Hinson said, “This is something you did. It’s not who you are. I still appreciate what you have done and what you still do for this community.” He is fined $1000, is ordered to serve 11 months and 29 days on probation, pay restitution in the amount of $500, make a contribution to the Humane Society in the amount of $250, as well as pay court costs.
