The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Hampshire Lady Hawks and Hawks on Thursday, December 15, at Lewis County Hugh School.

The Lady Panthers came out hot off the tip against the Lady Hawks. Kerrigan Reeves led the first quarter charge with 9 points as Lewis County jumped out to a 15-9 lead.

The Lady Hawks fought back in the second as the Lady Panthers were held to seven points in the period and Hampshire cut the Lewis County lead to 22-21 as the teams went in at the half.

Lewis County responded after the half with six players contributing to their total and took a 37-24 lead into the fourth quarter.

As the pace picked up the Lady Hawks struggled to keep within distance of the Lady Panthers, and Lewis County pulled away to a 56-37 win at home.

Kerrigan Reeves led the Lady Panthers with 13, Kailee Thomas and Desirae Warman each had 7, Jayden Moore and Ruth Jennings each added 6, Blayr Clayton, Emery Norris, and Gabii Ortiz 4 each, Keira Halbrooks 3, and Aryn Shepherd had 2.

The Panthers jumped on the Hawks in the opening minutes of the boys' matchup. Malachi Bruce contributed 7 points in a 21 point first that saw Lewis County secure a 21-9 lead.

Bryson Clayburn heated up in a fast-paced second quarter, scoring 14 in the period, and the Panthers stretched their lead out to 46-21.

After the break at halftime Clayburn continued to show the hot hand, adding 9 points to the total as the Panther lead grew to 64-33 as play moved to the final period of regulation.

The Panthers outscored the Hawks 15-8 over the final eight minutes to take a 79-41 win at home.

Bryson Clayburn led the Panthers in the win with 28, Dyer Barnes added 17, Malachi Bruce had 11, Wyatt Bosheers 6, Kyle Holcomb 5, Ryan Tanner and Julian Jones 4 each, and Cade Lomax and Drew Ray each added 2.

The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Santa Fe Lady Wildcats and Wildcats on Friday, December 16.

The girls game began as a very close matchup as Santa Fe outscored the Lady panthers 11-10 in the opening quarter of play.

The Lady Panthers went cold in the second quarter as they were held to only 4 Desirae Warman points and Santa Fe took a lead at the half 22-14.

The back and forth battle continued into the second half as Kerrigan Reeves had 6 of the Lady Panther 10 third quarter points and Santa Fe went up 10 at 34-24 moving into the fourth quarter.

Warman would be clutch in the fourth quarter as the Lady Panthers mounted the comeback, dropping 7 points in the period as the Lady Panthers secured the win late 40-38.

Desirae Warman was leading scorer for Lewis County with 17, Kerrigan Reeves added 10, Keira Halbrooks 4, Blayr Clayton, Emery Norris, Aryn Shepherd, and Gabii Ortiz 2 each, and Ruth Jennings 1 point.

It was the hot-shooting Wildcats that took an early lead in the opening eight minutes of play, outpacing the Panthers 22-14 despite Dyer Barnes 6 points.

The Panthers worked to climb back in the second as Wyatt Bosheers connected on two threes in the period and the Santa Fe lead was cut to 35-30 at the half.

The third quarter saw the Wildcats maintain the lead as they outscored Lewis County 18-16 in a tight third and held a 53-46 lead as play moved on to the fourth.

The Panthers cut the lead halfway through the final period, but the Wildcats were solid at the charity stripe and took the win 75-64.

Dyer Barnes had 23 for the Panthers in the loss, Wyatt Bosheers had 16, Bryson Clayburn and Cade Lomax each had 8, Malachi Bruce had 6, and Kyle Holcomb ended with 3.
