The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers traveled to Loretto for District 10AA games against the Loretto Lady Mustangs and Mustangs on Tuesday, February 7.

The Lady panthers and Lady Mustangs started the first game in a tight matchup, but Loretto seized the momentum midway through the period and ran out to a 24-7 lead by the end of the first. While Loretto cooled off in the second, Lewis County struggled to cut into the lead during the quarter and Loretto built a 37-14 lead by halftime. Lewis County found scoring even more difficult after the halftime break as they were held to two free-throws in the eight-minute period and Loretto sprinted out to a comfortable 59-16 lead as play moved on to the fourth quarter. With a running clock in the final eight minutes, Loretto outscored Lewis County 9-8 and cruised to a big 71-24 win. Jayden Moore led Lewis County with 8 points in the loss, Desirae Warman added 6, Keira Halbrooks 4, Kerrigan Reeves 3, Kailee Thomas 2, and Emery Norris 1.

The Mustangs pushed the tempo from the tip in the matchup with the Panthers. The Panthers were held to five Dyer Barnes points over the opening eight minutes of play and the Mustangs took a 24-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Mustang's continued to play fast and knock down shots in the second as they added 23 to their total while holding the Panthers to 10 and took a 47-15 lead in at halftime. Play was more even after the break at halftime, but Loretto still outpaced Lewis County in the third by an 18-15 margin and the Mustangs held a commanding 65-30 lead heading into the fourth quarter. With a running clock for the final eight minutes of play the teams played an even 7-7 period and Loretto took the win 72-37. Dyer Barnes had 9 points in the loss, Malachi Bruce had 6, Drew Ray, Kyle Holcomb, and Julian Jones each had 4, Ryan Tanner and Wyatt Bosheers 3 each, and Bryson Clayburn and Cade Lomax ended with 2 each.

The Lewis County High School Lady Panthers and Panthers hosted the Giles County Lady Bobcats and Bobcats on Saturday, February 4 for District 10AA games.

The Lady Panthers hit the floor in search of revenge after dropping the first matchup with Giles County early in the district schedule. Keira Halbrooks paced Lewis County over the opening quarter, scoring six of the teams thirteen points and the Lady Panthers secured a 13-10 lead at the end of the first. The pace of the game slowed in the second quarter as both teams struggled to score, but Lewis County managed to hang on to a slim lead as the game reached the half at 19-17. The third quarter was another slow period for both teams. Lewis County only scored six points in the third, five coming from Halbrooks, and the Lady Bobcats pulled into a 25-25 tie by the end of the period. Both teams would have their best quarter in the fourth, and seven different Lady Panthers would score in the period as Lewis County took a late lead and held on for the District 10AA win over the Lady Bobcats, 44-41. Keira Halbrooks finished with 15 points in the win, Jayden Moore added 11, Aryn Shepherd had 6, Blayr Clayton 4, Kerrigan Reeves and Gabii Ortiz 3 each, and Desirae Warman 2.

The Panthers started the game off with stellar defense in the opening quarter along with some key shooting. Bryson Clayburn had nine first quarter points as Lewis County jumped out to a 15-10 lead at the end of the quarter. The defense continued to limit opportunities for the Bobcats over the course of the second quarter as Clayburn and Dyer Barnes each had five in the period and Lewis County held a 30-19 lead at halftime. The Bobcats flipped the script in the third as the held the Panthers to only six points in the quarter while claiming the lead and pulling away to a 45-36 lead moving into the fourth quarter. The lead was more than enough to keep the Panthers at bay, as Giles County took the win 71-58 over the Panthers.

Bryson Clayburn finished the night with 28 points, Kyle Holcomb added 10, Dyer Barnes 7, Malachi Bruce 6, Wyatt Bosheers 5, and Cade Lomax 2.
