Today is a new day

No matter how determined we are, we’ll all experience a setback sometime. Perhaps over the holidays, we ate, stuffed, dipped and chipped it to excess and now we’re feeling guilty. Maybe we forgot a present or ended up fussing with family, a friend or neighbor even thou it was not entirely our fault. What if we have already said “yes” one too many times and haven’t had our quiet time for days.

One gift we are given when we wake up each morning is a new day. A new day in which we can make healthy choices, dwell on what is good and right, and allow ourselves to enjoy our life much more.

Don’t be discouraged with yesterday. Don’t let the past failures sap our strength today. And don’t get down on ourselves. Don’t look back, but look forward and up!

Rather than feeling guilty about that big dinner, get active and start eating healthy food again. Instead of harboring anger any longer toward anyone, try writing a nice note. Don’t try to catch up on our quiet time, but start where we left off.

Remember, we’ve been given a brand new day and a whole new start. Think about the following: Today I will; Today I want to; Today I look forward to; Today I will start; Today I will call; Today I will take; Today I will try; and Today I can.

Today is a new day, please give it a fresh start with positive attitude!

When you get to the end of the rope, tie a knot and hang on. How much easier it is to be critical than to be correct. The roots grow deep when the winds blow strong. Don’t let your mind become so busy that your heart can’t respond. When one helps another, both are strong. Minds are like parachutes, they function only when open.
