Willis Gene Austin passed away at the age of 84 at Maury Regional surrounded by his loving family on May 7, 2023. He was born in Waterloo, Alabama on September 15, 1938, to the late James and Esther White Austin. Mr. Austin served in the United States Army where he worked as military police.
He worked at Maury Regional Medical Center in plant operations before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, horses, family, and spending time with his Punkin. He was always one that was known for quoting the popular saying “Cowboy up and Get-r-Done.
Mr. Austin leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Kelly Austin, his sons Tommy Austin, Bill Austin, Brian Austin, all of Alabama, and James Austin of France. His daughters Chelsea Smith (Cody) of Summertown, Morgan Pratt (Daniel) of Columbia, Mackenzie Gowen of Columbia, and Amy Lyles of Alabama.
In addition to his wife and children, Mr. Austin leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held on Wednesday, May 10 and Thursday, May 11, in the chapel of Adair Funeral & Cremation Service. Services will begin at noon on Thursday with Josh Adair Officiating. Burial will follow on his private property in Summertown.
