This past week Lewis County Cub Scouts were introduced to rudimentary cardboard slingshots that fired pompoms, in preparation for constructing their very own stick and rubber band versions that could be used for target practice.

The scouts were given a brief firearms safety presentation to ensure that they understood that they should never aim at people, animals or anything that could be broken by accident. They eagerly completed their slingshots and went outside to fire their non-lethal projectiles at the side of the building. The project was a hit! The leaders look forward to creating...
