World Elephant Day, August 12, aims to educate communities about elephants and the importance of protecting them and preserving their natural habitats. Each year, through various educational programs, events, and outreach initiatives, The Elephant Sanctuary here in Hohenwald seeks to engage folks of all ages, inspiring a sense of responsibility toward wildlife conservation.

This year, The Elephant Sanctuary will be hosting Trunk Trivia on World Elephant Day, in person at The Elephant Discovery Center in downtown Hohenwald.

Trivia questions will cover topics related to elephant biology, The Elephant Sanctuary, and conservation. There will be prizes too!

The Discovery Center is free and open to the public. Everyone of all ages is invited to Trunk Trivia! If you can’t make it in person, you can also test out your trivia knowledge virtually all day on social media and on their website at http://www.elephants.com/discovery-center.

The Sanctuary habitats are closed to the public. Those who visit the Elephant Discovery Center will not see or interact with elephants.
