Serving Hohenwald, Lewis County Tennessee Since 1898

Helen Ozier

Honored by Friends of Tennessee Libraries

Helen Ozier, Economic and Community Development Coordinator, was presented a Recognition Award from Friends of Tennessee Libraries at their annual meeting in Franklin on October 21, 2023. Each year, Friends of Tennessee Libraries honors a civic-minded volunteer for substantial contributions to Tennessee libraries made through their local Friends of the Library organization.

In making the presentation, Kathy Dooley-Smith, President of Friends of Tennessee Libraries, lauded the achievements of our local Friends of the Library, in particular how Helen Ozier's support of the Friends of the Lewis County Library has been vital to the success of various events, most notably the annual "Rock the Lot" community concert that is co-hosted with the City of Hohenwald. Helen's willingness to serve the community has positively impacted a number of local organizations and events, such as South Central Area Fair, Christmas in Hohenwald, and the Oktober Heritage Festival. From decorating the community for holidays to facilitating local economic development, Helen Ozier's gifts of time and commitment set a positive example of civic engagement that benefits both Lewis County and the City of Hohenwald.

The Friends of the Lewis County Library were also recognized and honored at the annual meeting as this year's Friends of Tennessee Libraries' Friend of the Year.
