Michael McCann

Michael McCann, 65, a loving, friendly, and kind man, left this world on November 20, 2023, in Nashville, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lake County on September 24, 1958, to the late Kenneth and Blondell McCann, Michael's life was a testament to his warm spirit and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

\Michael was a beloved husband, father, and brother. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melissa McCann, son David Michael McCann, daughter Rachel McCann Moore, and son-in-law Hamilton Moore. He is also survived by his brothers, Randall (Diane) McCann, and Marty McCann. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene McCann Reasons.

Over the course of his life, Michael built a distinguished career as a robotics engineer. His work was not just a job, but a passion that he pursued with dedication and tenacity. His colleagues respected him for his integrity and his commitment to excellence.

Michael will be remembered for the many things he loved. His passion for sports was evident, whether he was home watching the Masters or Wimbledon, or traveling with friends each year to see the high school state basketball tournament. He couldn't resist quoting funny lines from his favorite movies or filling his home with songs when he got one stuck in his head. He was never short on great book recommendations, often getting lost in the works of Cormac McCarthy and William Gay. Most of all, he loved Christ. His legacy is a steadfast example of the goodness and faithfulness of the Father.

A visitation for Michael was held on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at New Hope Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service followed with Brother Jerry McDonald officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

In his 65 years, Michael left a profound impact on those around him. His kindness was infectious, his generosity was unparalleled, and his love for his family was boundless. Michael was a man who truly lived his life to the fullest, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Adair Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
