Hohenwald City Mayor Danny McKnight and Lewis County Mayor Jonah Keltner were joined by school officials January 10th for the proclamation signing, declaring the week of January 21-27 as School Board Appreciation Week in Tennessee.
"An excellent public education system is vital to the quality of life of our communities and to the economic development of our State. School board members represent a tremendous resource as local decision makers, diligently working to meet the challenges of a dynamic world while ensuring that every child receives the services needed for a quality education. They support and appreciate the efforts of students, educators, and administrators which have led to Tennessee having the highest graduation rate on record. The men and women of our local school boards are elected by the people to make decisions most appropriate for their communities and deserve recognition and thanks for their countless hours of service to the public education in Tennessee."
