Pilot on Solo, Cross-Country Flight Narrowly Escapes Tragedy

Stopping just a few feet from Highway 412, a female pilot is counting her blessings after a close call last week.

A little before 9 a.m. on January 10th, a student flying a 1974 Cessna 150 owned by Volunteer Aviation Foundation in Tullahoma, overshot the runway at Paul Bridges Airfield.

She was on a solo adventure to fly cross-country when her engine began to fail, and she was forced to make an emergency landing in Hohenwald.

The plane overshot the runway, but came to a stop just feet away from Highway 412. The pilot waked away with no injuries....
