Wildland Fire Suppression Kits available to Volunteer Fire Departments

The Tennessee Department of Agriculture’s Division of Forestry is accepting applications for the 2020 Volunteer Fire Assistance (VFA) program until Sept. 11. Departments may now apply for VFA Wildland Fire Suppression Kits to supplement their department’s wildland firefighting capacity.

“Volunteer fire departments across the state are a valuable partner in protecting life and property from wildfire,” State Forester David Arnold said. “Our Volunteer Fire Assistance Program ensures county and municipal volunteer fire departments have the resources they need to safely and efficiently fight fire.”...
