Series: Letter to the Editor | Story 26

Dear Editor,

Since Tennessee is increasingly becoming another home of the U.S. Auto manufacturing industry, trade between Canada and the U.S. is now vitally important to Tennessee as it is to Michigan.

The Canadian Freedom Truck Convoy has clearly exposed just how much the Canadian Government is Socialist/Communist, connected to the EU and especially connected to the CCP.

The Ambassador Bridge at Detroit is privately owned by the billionaire Matthew Moroun and conducts over 13b$ in mostly auto industry trade annually. The new Gordie Howe Bridge at Detroit will replace the Ambassador Bridge completely. It will become even more important to trade between the two Countries because of its size and by connecting I-75 at Detroit to a Canadian Interstate outside of Windsor.

Considering all of this, why are we allowing Canada to build the bridge and to literally control the bridge for 50 years?

What about the next time the CCP unleashes a Pandemic and a Socialist-CCP Canadian PM like Justin Trudeau and Parliament decides to jerk our supply chain and our economy through the manipulation of the Gordie Howe Bridge?!

I understand that there are treaty/trade agreements and laws, but leaders like Xi Jinping do not follow our laws! (Note how even our own President fails to follow our own Immigration Laws).

Looking ahead and knowing what we know today, I do not think that allowing the Canadian Government to control the new Gordie Howe Bridge is a good idea. Now, more than ever we need to put America and Tennessee first.

Sincerely,

Nancy Lynn Nagy
