The Lewis County High School Panthers traveled to Spring Hill High School for a matchup with the Franklin Admirals on Thursday, March 24th.

Lewis County was the visiting game for their game against Franklin High, and went down in order in the first inning. Bryson McDonald drew the start for the Panthers and after a leadoff walk surrendered an RBI single to center that brought home the first run of the afternoon for the Admirals. Franklin would add two more in the inning to take a 3-0 lead after one complete. Kael Feichtinger started the second drawing a walk and come in to score on an RBI single from Fletch Kelsey. Kelsey would make his way around the bases and score on Lincoln Brewer's groundout to cut the score to 3-2 Franklin. McDonald would make his way to the mound to start the second and Franklin loaded the bases with no outs before Blake Carroll came on in relief. The Admirals would add two runs in the second to take a 5-2 lead. Blake Carroll led off the third with a single and would score on a two out single by Feichtinger. Logan Graves was inserted to run for the Panther catcher and would score before the inning ended to make it a 5-4 game. Carroll would load the bases in the bottom of the third with one out and the Admirals scored four on a grand slam, and add 2 more before Kelsey was able to end the inning in relief with Franklin leading 11-4. Brewer singled to start the fourth and came around to score on a one-out single by Ethan Ray to make it an 11-5 game. Kelsey worked around a leadoff single to pitch a scoreless fourth. The Panthers squandered a one-out walk to McDonald in the fifth, and in the bottom of the inning Kelsey was again on point, holding the Admirals scoreless and striking out two in the frame. Neither team added to the score in the sixth as both teams went down in order. In their final at bat of the game, the Panthers were set down in order to end the game, dropping the final 11-5.

Kael Feichtinger had 1 hit, 1 run, and 1 RBI, Lincoln Brewer 1 hit, 1 run, 1 RBI, Blake Carroll a hit and a run scored, Fletch Kelsey a hit and a run scored, and Ethan Ray a hit and an RBI. Bryson McDonald went an inning, allowed 5 runs on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. Blake Carroll went an inning and a third, gave up 6 runs, 4 earned, on 5 hits and walked 2. Fletch Kelsey went three and a third, allowed no runs and 1 hit, struck out 3 and walked 1.

The Lewis County Panthers faced the Spring Hill Raiders in their second game of the day at Spring Hill High School on Thursday, March 24th.

In the top of the first Bryson McDonald drew a two-out walk but was cut down at second on a hard shot off the bat of Kael Feichtinger was handled by the Raider third baseman to end the inning. Hayden Jackson took the bump to start for Lewis County and worked around a one-out walk to keep the game scoreless after one. Fletch Kelsey was hit by a pitch to start the visitor second but the Panthers were unable to bring him home and went scoreless in the second. Jackson retired the Raiders in order to hold the 0-0 tie after two complete. The Panthers put something together in the third as Jackson reached on an error and moved into scoring position on a one-out single by Brayden Whitlow. The Panthers failed to score with two on and one out and the game held with no score. Jackson worked around a hit batter to keep Spring Hill off the board in the home third. FLetch Kelsey started the fourth with a walk, and worked his way around to score on a single by Ethan Rayto give the Panthers the lead 1-0Jackson returned for the fourth and gave up a single and hit batter to start the inning, and back-to-back one-out singles would score three for the home team, who would add 2 more in the inning to make it a 4-1 game. Brayden Whitlow reached in the fifth on an error by the Raider first baseman, and two-out hits from Kael Feichtinger, a single, and Fletch Kelsey, a double, would score two for Lewis County to cut it to a 4-3 Spring Hill lead. Lincoln Brewer came on in relief in the bottom of the fifth and surrendered back-to-back doubles ahead of a two-run homerun to extend the Raider lead to 7-3. Spring Hill added one more in the inning and took an 8-3 lead into the sixth inning. Lewis County went down in order in the top of the sixth, and Ethan Ray came in to start the bottom half for the Panthers in relief of Brewer. Ray issued walks to the first two Raider batters, and a misplayed ground ball would load the bases with no outs. Spring Hill would add a run after a single, and Brayden Whitlow cam in to end the inning with Spring Hill pulling out to an 11-3 lead. In their final at bat of the game, Bryson McDonald stroked a one-out double to left ahead of a Feichtinger single and walk to Kelsey. Lincoln Brewer connected for a 2-run single, but the Panthers rally ended and the Panthers dropped the 11-5 decision.

Kael Feichtinger had 3 hits and 2 runs in the game, Fletch Kelsey a double, 1 run, and 2 RBI, Lincoln Brewer a hit and 2 RBI, Brayden Whitlow a hit and a run, Bryson McDonald a double and a run, and Ethan Ray a hit and an RBI. Hayden Jackson went 4 innings, gave up 4 runs on 4 hits while walking 2, Lincoln Brewer went 1 inning, gave up 4 runs on 4 hits and walked 1. Ethan Ray went two-thirds of an inning, gave up 3 runs, 1 earned, on a hit and walked 2. Brayden Whitlow pitched a third of an inning and walked one.

The Lewis County Panthers traveled to Columbia to take on the Forrest Rockets on Friday, March 25th

Fletch Kelsey started the game off with a single to right, but was cut down at second on a Brayden Whitlow fielder's choice to short. Blake Carroll followed with a single to put runners on first and second with one out, then, with two down and two in scoring position, Bryson McDonald smoked a two-run single to center to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead early. Brayden Whitlow was on the mound for Lewis County and worked out of a two-on, one-out jam by inducing a double play to keep the Rockets off the board in the first. Brody Whitlow reached on an error with one out in the second and scored later in the inning on an error on a ball hit by Brayden Whitlow to make it a 3-0 game. Whitlow issued a walk to the leadoff man in the third, but another double play helped his cause and held the Rockets scoreless in the second. The Panthers went down in order in the third. The Rockets loaded the bases in the top of the third with no outs, and Whitlow induced the third double play of the day. But, a walk ahead of a two-out double plated 2 for Forrest and the score was cut to 3-2 with the Panthers on top. Licoln Brewer was hit by a pitch and Ethan Ray walked to start the fourth. A failed steal attempt and subsequent runner being caught attempting to move up on an errant throw resulted in an unothodox double play, and the Panther squandered a scoring opportunity in the inning to keep the score 3-2. Whitlow worked around ahit batter and an error in the fourth to keep the Panthers on top by 1. The Panthers seemed to have something going in the fifth with Blake Carroll reaching with two outs after being hit by a pitch and Kael Feictinger connecting with a single followed by a two-out walk to Bryson McDonald, but the Panthers couldn't add to their lead. Ethan Ray entered in the fifth to pitch, and the leadoff for the Rockets reached on an error. A double would plate the tying run, and a single put a runner in scoring position at third. Still with no outs, a gound ball brought in a run to give Forrest their first lead, and a bases loaded walk with two outs would plate another as Forrest took a 5-3 lead. Hayden Jackson picked up a two-out single but was left stranded in the sixth. Lincoln Brewer relieved Ray in the sixth, and a misplayed ball and a single put two on with no outs. A one-out single and a two out single brough in 3 more Forrest runs to make it an 8-3 game moving into the Panthers final at bat of the afternoon. The Panthers went down scoreless in the seventh and took the loss 8-3.

Bryson McDonald had a hit and 2 RBI, Blake Carroll a hit and a run, Fletch Kelsey a hit, Kael Feichtinger a hit, and Hayden Jackson a hit, Brayden Whitlow a run scored and Brody Whitlow a run scored. Brayden Whitlow went four innings, gave up 2 runs on 2 hits, and walked 3. Ethan Ray went one inning, gave up 3 runs, one earned, on 2 hits while striking out 1 and walking 1. Lincoln Brewer went one inning, gave up 3 runs on 3 hits, and struck out 1.

The Lewis County Panthers traveled to Loretto to take on the Loretto Mustangs on Monday, March 28th to open their District 10AA schedule.

The Panthers started the game with three straight singles from Fletch Kelsey, Brayden Whitlow, and Blake Carroll, but were unable to push a run across in the first. Bryson McDonald drew the start for Lewis County and retired the Mustangs in order. Brody Whitlow drew a one-out walk in the second and moved around to be able to score the first Panther run on a wild pitch during Kelsey's second at bat of the night to give Lewis County a 1-0 lead. McDonald retired the first two Mustang hitters of the second and worked around a walk and a single to keep Loretto off the board. Blake Carroll reached on a one-out single in the second and Kael Feichtinger drew a walk, but the Panthers left runners in scoring position in a scoreless inning. McDonald worked around a one-out walk to blank the Mustangs in the second and the Panthers held on to a 1-0 lead after three complete. Lewis County went down in order in the fourth, and McDonald was again clutch on the hill in the bottom half as he worked out of a first and third situation with no outs to again keep the Mustangs scoreless. The Panthers failed to get a baserunner in the fifth, and McDonald found himself in a bind in the home half. With one on and two out in the Mustang fifth a Panther error and a walk loaded the bases, but McDonald came through with an inning-ending strikeout to end the Loretto threat and cling to a 1-0 lead. Kael Feichtinger led of the sixth with a double and McDonald followed with an RBI double to make it 2-0. Lincoln Brewer was hit by a pitch and Ethan Ray reached on a fielder's choice. With two outs and bases loaded Fletch Kelsey brought in two more with a single to center to pull the Panthers out to a 4-0 lead after five and a half innings. McDonald returned to the mound in the sixth and walked the leadoff batter but followed by retiring two straight. Another walk ahead of consecutive singles plated two for the Mustangs before the Panthers could close out the inning with a 4-2 lead. In the top half of the seventh, Blake Carroll and Kael Feichtinger each singled with two outs, and Bryson McDonald loaded the bases being hit by a pitch ahead of an RBI single to left by Lincoln Brewer. With two outs and the bases still loaded Brody Whitlow brought in a runner when he was hit by a pitch to make it 6-2, and Hayden Jackson followed with a two-run single that brought in Lincoln Brewer and Ethan Ray. Brody Whitlow would cross the plate on a passed ball to make it a 9-2 game moving on to the bottom of the seventh. McDonald struck out the first Mustang batter of the seventh and surrendered a walk. He would walk the bases loaded with two outs, and Blake Carroll would come on in relief and strike out the final Mustang batter of the game, closing out the 9-2 Panther win.

Blake Carroll had 3 hits and a run scored, Fletch Kelsey 2 hits and 2 RBI, Kael Feichtinger 2 hits, a double, and a run, Bryson McDonald a double, 2 runs, and an RBI, Lincoln Brewer 1 hit, 2 runs, and an RBI, Hayden Jackson a hit and 2 RBI, Brayden Whitlow a hit, and Ethan Ray a run scored. Bryson McDonald went six and two-thirds innings for the win, allowed 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out 7 and walking 8. Blake Carroll faced one batter and struck him out.

After opening district play with a win on Monday, the Lewis County Panthers hosted the Loretto Mustangs in District 10AA action on Tuesday, March 29th.

Hayden Jackson was the starting pitcher for the Panthers and worked around a two-out walk for a scoreless inning. Fletch Kelsey and Brayden Whitlow started things off for the Panthers in the home half with singles, and Blake Carroll brought home the games first run with a sacrifice fly and a second run crossed with two outs on a misplayed ball off the bat of Bryson McDonald and Lewis County took a 2-0 lead. Jackson kept the Mustangs in check in a second, not allowing a run after a one-out single. Sloan Moseley reached on a two-out single in the bottom of the second but the Panthers were unable to add to their lead. Jackson threw another scoreless inning in the top half of the third, and the Panthers were kept off the board in the bottom half keeping the score 2-0 in favor of Lewis County. With two down in the fourth Jackson ran into a jam. The Mustangs put runners on with a hit batter and a single, and both would come around to score on a 2-run single to tie the game. The Panthers couldn't answer in the home half and the game was tied 2-2 moving into the fifth inning. Jackson was able to escape a two on, one out situation in the fifth to hold off Loretto. . Brayden Whitlow singled with one out in the bottom of the fifth but was left stranded in scoring position. The Mustangs took the lead in the sixth with a leadoff homerun to left off of Jackson. The following batter would single and Blake Carroll would come in in relief to get the Panthers out of the inning, but Loretto had taken the lead 3-2. Lincoln Brewer would reach on a single in the bottom half, but the Panthers failed to bring home the equalizer and Loretto held the one-run lead. Carroll worked around a leadoff walk to hold the Mustangs, but the Panthers went down in order in their final at bat and dropped the District 10AA matchup 3-2.

Brayden Whitlow had 2 hits and a run scored, Fletch Kelsey a hit and a run, Lincoln Brewer 1 hit, and Sloan Mosely one hit. Hayden Jackson went five innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, walked 1 and struck out 3. Blake Carroll threw two innings of relief, walked 1 and struck out 1.

The Lewis County Panthers travelled to Spring Hill High School on Tuesday, March 15th for their first road game of the 2022 baseball season.

Blake Carroll led off for the Panthers and drew a walk, and with one down Sloan Moseley was hit by a pitch, but Lewis County failed to push a run across. Sloan Moseley was the starter for the Panthers and worked around a two-out walk to keep the game tied at 0-0. Brayden Whitlow reached on a two-out single, but the Panthers went down without scoring in the second. Moseley threw a perfect second and the score remained 0-0. Kael Feichtinger smoked a double with one down in the third and the panthers would plate the first run of the game on a triple driven to right center off the bat of Bryson McDonald and Lewis County took a 1-0 lead. Moseley would run into trouble in the third as he surrendered a pair of one-out walks and loaded the bases with a two-out hit batter but came back to retire the final out on strikes to end the thread and protect the one-run lead. Ethan Ray led off the fourth with a single to center and moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Brayden Whitlow. After a two-out walk by Blake Carroll, Ray came in to score on a balk to give Lewis County a 2-0 lead. Sloan Moseley walked the leadoff batter in the bottom of the fourth and was relieved by Fletch Kelsey. Kelsey issued a walk and gave up a bunt single that loaded the bases but settled in to retire three straight to keep the Raiders off the scoreboard and Lewis County held on to a 2-0 lead. McDonald walked to begin the fifth and was followed by walks to Fletch Kelsey and Brody Whitlow to load the bases with no outs. Ethan Ray brought in McDonald with a single to center, and the Panthers took a 3-0 lead. Spring Hill would start the fifth with a single and a walk and would score twice in the inning to make it a one-run game, 3-2, after five complete. Blake Carroll walked to start the sixth and came home to score on a rip from Sloan Moseley and the Panthers made it a 4-2 game. Blake Carroll came on to relieve Kelsey after a leadoff homerun, and the Raiders would rally. A one out walk and double gave Spring hill the lead at 5-4, and a subsequent double made it a 6-4 game. The Raiders would tack on 3 more to pull out to a 9-4 lead moving into the seventh. Ethan Ray and Brayden Whitlow each singled in the seventh, but the Panthers could not bring a run in and dropped the final, 9-4.

The Lewis County Panthers were back at home on Thursday, March 17th, hosting the Forrest Rockets.

Hayden Jackson drew the start for the Panthers and gave up a two-out single to right but nothing more in the first. Brayden Whitlow picked up a one-out single to center but the Rocket defense kept the Panthers off the board in the inning. Jackson was perfect in the second, Brody Whitlow led off the home second with a single to right, but the Panthers left him stranded and the game was scoreless through two. The Rockets went down in order in the third. With one down in the third Blake Carroll smoked a double to left, but would move no further and the game was still tied 0-0 after three. Jackson and the Panther defense kept the Rockets in check in the fourth after a leadoff single was negated on an inning-ending double play. The Panthers got a two-out baserunner on a Brody Whitlow, but a rundown ended the inning and there was still no score after four. The Rockets went down in order in the fifth. Steele Moseley would reach on an error with two outs, and Blake Carroll reached on an infield hit. With two on and one out, Brayden Whitlow connected on a run-scoring single to center to score the game's first run and Lewis County took a 1-0 lead into the sixth. After two quick outs in the top of the sixth Forrest reached base with a hit batter and an infield hit, and a drive to right would bring home two to give the Rockets a 2-1 lead, and the Panthers went down in order in the home half and trailed by 1 moving into the seventh. The Panthers would escape a jam in the seventh as the Rockets had two runners in scoring position but failed to add to their lead. In their final at bat, Ethan Ray singled to start the inning for the Panthers. Ray moved into scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Jackson but was cut down at third on a ball hit back to the pitcher by Steele Moseley. Sam Moore came in to run for Moseley with two out and would come around to score and tie the game on a drive to left. Brayden Whitlow would walk it off with a win with a single to left that score Carroll and gave the Panthers a 3-2 win.
