Advertisement for Bids; HVAC Installation

Sealed bids for its HVAC INSTALLATION project will be received by the Hohenwald Housing Authority, 107 Allison Avenue, Hohenwald, Tennessee 38462, on May 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., and then at said office of the Executive Director publicly opened and read aloud. A complete set of Specifications and Bid Documents may be obtained from the Housing Authority at the address indicated above.

Attention is called to the fact that no less than the stated minimum salaries and wages must be paid on this project. The Contract will be subject to the “Section 3” Clause, calling for utilization of low-income businesses and individuals from the project area where feasible. The Contract is also subject to all federal, state and local civil rights, safety, labor and bidding/contracting requirements.

All bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6) of the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee. For contracts of $25,000 or more, the law requires the general contractor to list its license information of the outside of the bid envelope with the Name as licensed, License Number, Expiration Date and the Classification applying to the bid. In the case of joint ventures, this information must be provided by each party submitting the bid. All subcontracts relating to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC in the amount of $25,000.00 or more, or masonry subcontracts exceeding $100,000, require the general contractor to list the subcontractor and their respective state license number on the outside of the Bid Envelope. If the subcontract does not exceed $25,000.00 for the above-mentioned categories, the general contractor must certify to this effect on the outside of the Bid Envelope. Failure to do so will disqualify the prime bidder. Only one contractor may be listed for each classification. Each Bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount of 5% of the bid.

Walk -Through and Pre-Bid Conference

On May 11, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., a pre-bid conference and walk-through will be held at the Central Office of the Hohenwald Housing Authority for the purpose of answering questions bidders may have and to consider any suggestions they may wish to make concerning the project. Following the conference, a walk-through will be held in which bidders will have the opportunity to review unit interiors, take measurements, etc. All interested parties are urged to attend, as this may be the only opportunity to view unit interiors prior to bid opening.

The Hohenwald Housing Authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days of the bid opening.
