Well here it is the middle of October and it is a beautiful cool morning here in our little valley. We have got a light breeze blowing and the leaves are falling off the trees. This sure is a pretty time of year, there are so many pretty fall colors.

The cats are having a good morning, they have had their breakfast and are now chasing leaves and chasing each other. The squirrels are enjoying this morning also but they are not playing they are busy, there was three of them here in the front year, I guess they somehow know that the cold is on the way. We have to listen to the weather forecast, but they have their own way of knowing the forecast.

The gardens are gone and canning season is over until next year. I talked to my daughter Pam and they were digging up their sweet potatoes and she said that she had a big pan of them baking in the oven. One thing that really goes good with sweet potatoes is turnip greens, so I am sure she probably also had cooked up a pot of turnip greens too.

Today we are going out to run errands and go to the grocery store, I have already got my list made up. You know I was thinking I have been complaining about the cost of everything going up and how high gas is but then I stopped and I thought about it, we still have everything we need and we really never want for anything. God still provides, He takes care of everything and we just have to trust Him and do our part and take care of what He gives us.

I think I will stop watching the news because they never seem to tell about anything good and if they do they do tell something good they seem to follow it with something bad, of course that is just my opinion.

It is now beginning to rain, it is not a big rain, but it has been so dry and we sure do need it, so any rain we get is good. The cats have all come to the front porch because of the rain but they sure have enjoyed this morning and so have I, but I can not sit out here on the front porch much longer. Bob has got the kitchen cleaned and he has got me a cup of coffee, now isn’t that sweet, and it is fixed just the way I like it.

Soon when these days start getting cold and stay cold we will be building a fire in the old wood heating stove, but we have planned ahead and we have got everything ready to go, when that time comes we will be nice and warm sitting inside next to the old wood heating stove and having a cup of hot cocoa and watching outside for the first snow flakes, now that is going to be a good way to enjoy a cold day.

The washing machine just cut off and today I will have to put my clothes in the dryer, I miss hanging them out on the clothes line. I have got to get busy, but I would again like to thank all of the sweet people that read my little ramblings each week.

I am going to enjoy this day and I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless
