Well it is a cool fall morning here in our little valley. I have got my coffee and I am sitting out on the front porch. The sun is shining and there is a little breeze blowing and now the leaves are really falling off the trees. I have got an old blanket and I am covered up and I have one of the cats sitting next to me and I have got her covered up too. The other cats had their breakfast and now are out in the yard chasing leaves. I will not be able to sit out here very much longer but I wanted to enjoy it just a little longer. It sure is a quiet and peaceful morning.

During that last cold spell we built a fire in the old wood heating stove, that warm fire sure felt good on those cold mornings when the temperatures where down in the low thirties and I think it might have even reached down to the twenties early in the mornings right before the sun started coming up.

I know it is still only October but I have got Christmas on my mind and I am already planning my decorating. I do not think I will do as much this year as I have been but I still will have my trees up. Some of you know that I like to decorate, I try to decorate everything but Bob and the cats. They think I am a little crazy for decorating so much, but people decorate for other birthdays and parties, so why not for Jesus’ birthday? Of course we do not know for sure when it was but we have set aside December 25th to celebrate it.

We were out the other day on highway 412 again and we saw that bald eagle again flying right over the highway, we went a little further and we saw about 50 turkeys in one spot! I guess all the animals are out preparing, the squirrels here are still busy packing their food away for this winter. Lots of people are also preparing for the winter for their pets and animals, I know the neighbor has got all his hay in for his cows to eat over the winter, they depend on him to care for them and he has got them all set for the winter.

We are still cleaning up around here before it gets too cold. We got some more bushes cut back and Bobby trimmed my rose bushes down for the winter, there was some stems that still had buds on them so we cut them and put them into a vase so I have a pretty bouquet of roses on my table. We got some more windows washed, we have lots of windows. Bob is staying busy sweeping leaves off the porch and the walk. This week Bobby will be working on the gutters some more, we have lots of gutters too. I hope we will get a lot done before the rain that they are calling for gets here, and soon it will be too cold to do much outside, but we are ready for it.

The holiday season is almost here, Thanksgiving and Christmas is just right around the corner, so we are coming upon a busy time of year and I love it! Do you all think I am crazy too? I can not hardly wait for Christmas it is my favorite time of year, but for now I have got a busy day ahead, not only do we have inside work that has to be done but we also have to get as much of the outside work finished as we can, today it is going to be a nice day and I am going to enjoy it and get a lot done.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless
