Whitney Dixon with husband, Brandon

By Shelley Ray,

Extention County Director

After three long years of working diligently to secure funds and expand programming, the Lewis County Extension office is proud to announce the approval for a full-time 4-H agent. This addition will allow sufficient time to offer more programming all three areas including ANR, Family and Consumer Sciences, and 4-H. We would like to thank UT President Randy Boyd for initiating the project and following up with legislation to approve. We also want to thank our local county leaders Mayor Jonah Keltner and commissioners (both past and present) for approving for our county, it has been a great need for our office for many years.

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Whitney Dixon on board with us at the Lewis County Extension office. Whitney currently resides in Wayne County and is married to State Trooper Brandon Dixon. They have three children: Makale, David-Grant, and Max-Parker.

Whitney brings to us a strong educational background and long working history of working closely with children and families both in Head Start and the school system. Mrs. Dixon has spent countless hours working closely with organizations and leaders here in Lewis County and we look forward to what she will bring to our 4-H program.

Whitney will begin on January 1, 2023 and can be reached at 931-796-3091.
