The LCHS Lady Panthers traveled to Linden on Monday, April 10 to take in the Perry County Lady Vikings.

With two down in the first Kinlee Keltner connected on a double and scored on a Chloe Stewart single to put the Lady Panthers up 1-0. Keltner took the mound to start for Lewis County and the Lady Vikings tied the game after a walk and a sacrifice fly. After Lewis County went down in order in the second Perry County strung together a pair of walks and a single before a hit to center played one to make it a 2-1 game. Keltner would even things up in the third, smashing a solo home run to left to tie the game 2-2. A two-out walk and a single brought in a run for the Lady Vikings as they reclaimed the lead at 3-2. Keira Halbrooks and Bria Willcutt each singled in the top of the fourth, and both scored on a two-out double by Gabii Ortiz and Lewis County took a 4-3 lead. Keltner pitched a scoreless bottom half, and the Lady Panthers were kept off the board in the top of the fifth. Addie Morgan came in in the fifth for Lewis County, and the Lady Vikings got a solo home run by the lead off to tie the game at 4 heading into the sixth. The Lady Panthers we held scoreless in the top of the sixth and the game remained tied. Perry County would break the tie with a single and a costly Lady Panther error that gave the Lady Vikings a 5-4 lead. Keltner and Kerrigan Reeves each singled to start the seventh, but the Lady Panthers were unable to push a run across and took the loss 5-4.

Kinlee Keltner had 4 hits, a home run and two doubles, a run, and an RBI, Kerrigan Reeves had 2 hits with a double, Keira Halbrooks 2 hits and a run, Gabii Ortiz a double and 2 RBI, and Bria Willcutt a hit and a run scored. Kinlee Keltner went 3 innings in the mound, gave up 3 runs in 3 hits while striking out 1 and walking 5. Addie Morgan went 3 innings, allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits and struck out 1.

The Lady Panthers traveled to Loretto for afternoon action against the Lady Mustangs on Tuesday, April 11.

After the Lady Panthers went down in order in the top of the first, Addie Morgan took the mound to start. Loretto scored three in the first after an error, two singles, and a double, and held a 3-0 lead going into the second. Sophie Stutts reached on a one-out hit but Lewis County failed to score. A single and a triple in the home second would lead to a pair of Lady Mustang runs as they took a 5-0 lead. Both teams were held scoreless in the third, and Lewis County left two aboard in the top of the fourth. Kinlee Keltner came on in the fourth in relief, and Loretto would add to their lead. Three hits and a pair of Lady Panther errors led to four Lady Mustang runs as the host took a 9-0 lead. The Lady Panthers got a pair of two -our hits in the fifth but again came up empty. Loretto would end the game in the bottom of the fifth with a double and a run scoring single to take the win 10-0.

Gabii Ortiz, Kerrigan Reeves, Sophie Stutts, Olivia Smith, and Chloe Stewart each had a hit for the Lady Panthers. Addie Morgan went 3 innings, allowed 5 runs (2 earned) on 7 hits. Kinlee Keltner went 1 and 1/3 innings, allowing 5 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits.

The LCHS Lady Panthers hosted the Summertown Lady Eagles on Thursday, April 13.

Addie Morgan drew the start for Lewis County on Thursday and the Lady Eagles got a leadoff double and a one-out single to take an early 1-0 lead. The Lady Panthers went down in order in the home first, and Summertown would add to their lead in the second. A pair of singles and a pair of walks would bring in Summertown’s second run, and they would tack on another as they took a 3-0 lead. Lewis County was again taken down in order in the bottom of the second. The Lady Eagles would start the third with a walk and a pair of singles to plate a run, and another would cross on a two-out single as they took a 5-0 lead. Both teams would be quiet until the top of the fifth when the Lady Eagles got a leadoff homerun to make it a 6-0 game. After the Lady Panthers went down in order in the home fifth, Summertown blew up in the top of the sixth. The Lady Eagles would rally for seven runs in the inning that saw Kinlee Keltner come in after five-straight Summertown batters reached. When the dust settled at the end of the top half of the sixth, Summertown had taken a 13-0 lead. Lewis County would score their first, and only, run of the game on a two-out solo homerun by Bria Willcutt as the Lady Panthers fell 13-1.

Bria Willcutt had a homerun, 1 run, and 1 RBI, and Gabii Ortiz had a hit. Addie Morgan went 5 innings, gave up 11 runs (10 earned) on 11 hits while walking 7. Kinlee Keltner went 1 inning, allowed 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits.

The Lady Panthers hosted the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers on Tuesday, April 25.

Kerrigan Reeves took the bump to start the game for Lewis County, and the Lady Tigers would take advantage of a pair of walks and a costly error to score two in the top of the first to take a 2-0 lead. Reeves reached on a one-out double ahead of a two-run homerun by Kinlee Keltner that tied the game 2-2. A leadoff double and a pair of two-out hits plated two for the Lady Tigers as Mt. Pleasant went up 4-0. It would be the bottom of the third before either team put together anything, and Lewis County would get a single from Keltner and an RBI double from Faith Wishaw to cut the Mt. Pleasant lead to 4-3. As play moved to the top of the fifth with the score still 4-3, Mt. Pleasant capitalized on a Lewis County error and plated two to take a 6-3 lead. The score would hold over the last two-and-a-half innings as the Lady panthers fell 6-3.

Kinlee Keltner had 2 hits, a homerun, 2 runs, and 2 RBI, C.J. Tanner had 2 hits, Gabii Ortiz had a double, Kerrigan Reeves a double and a run scored, Faith Wishaw a double and an RBI, and Chloe Stewart a hit. Kerrigan Reeves went 7 innings, allowed 6 runs (3 earned) on 6 hits, walking 5 and striking out 2.

The LCHS Lady Panthers hosted the Loretto Lady Mustangs on Friday, April 28 for afternoon softball action.

Kerrigan Reeves took the mound for Lewis County and worked around an error for a scoreless first, and the Lady panthers went down in order in the home half. Loretto started the second with a pair of singles and a one-out walk and would pick up three more hits as they put four on the board in the inning to take a 4-0 lead. The Lady Panthers went down in order in the second, and both teams were kept off the board in the third and the score remained 4-0. The Lady Mustangs benefitted from a one-out error in the fourth and picked up a run to make it a 5-0 game. The score would hold until the top of the sixth when another Lewis County error set up a scoring opportunity for Loretto and a sac fly made it a 6-0 game. Lewis County went down in order the last two innings as Loretto took a 6-0 win.

Keira Halbrooks and C.J. Tanner each had a hit in the loss. Kerrigan Reeves went 7 innings, allowed 6 runs (4 earned) on 11 hits while walking 1 and striking out 2.
