Danny Lee Mathis, age 76, of the Totty’s Bend community in Hickman County, passed away on May 14, 2023, at his home in Duck River, Tennessee. Danny was born on April 10, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Grady and Mamie Coleman Mathis. Danny is preceded in death by his sisters Betty Lou Orton, Georgia Heffington, Celia Yates and brother Billy Mathis.

Danny grew up in Totty’s Bend on the family farm. He called Totty’s Bend “The Hub of The World”. Danny graduated from Hickman County High School in 1965. A few years later he joined the U.S. Army from January 22, 1969 until October 7, 1970...
