The Lewis County Lady panthers traveled to Pulaski to take on the Giles County Lady Bobcats in district play.

It was a long day for the Lady Panther batters on the road, and the first inning was a indication of how the day would go as Lewis County went down in order in the inning. Giles County got a leadoff single that led to the game’s first run against Lewis County starter Kerrigan Reeves as the Lady Bobcats took a 1-0 lead. The Lady Panthers were set down in order again in the second, and Giles County would add to their lead in the home half. A single and a walk would set the Lady bobcats up for two more on a double that made it a 3-0 game. Both teams were quiet in the third, fourth, and fifth innings. After the Lady panthers went down in order for the sixth time in the sixth, the Lady Bobcats would pad their lead in the bottom half. Giles County would plate two in the inning to make it a 5-0 game. The Lady Panthers went down in order in the seventh to end the game as the Giles County starter faced the minimum in a perfect game and took the district win 5-0.

The Lewis County Lady panthers closed out their 2023 regular season at home against the Summertown Lady Eagles.

Addie Morgan took the mound for the Lady Panthers to start the game and gave up a run on a leadoff double and a one-out single as Summertown took a 1-0 lead. Lewis County went down in order in the home first. Summertown would start the second with three-straight hits that would lead to two runners scoring as they added to their lead 3-0. In the home second the Lady Panthers were again retired in order. Summertown strung together four hits in the third as they again added two to their total and took a 5-0 lead. The Lady Panthers had three-straight batters retired by strikeout in the bottom of the third. Summertown was held in check in the fourth, but Lewis County failed to get a baserunner and the score remained 5-0. A leadoff homerun by the Lady eagles would add a run in the fifth and make it a 6-0 game, and once again the Lady panthers went down in order in the home half. Summertown would explode in the top of the sixth inning as the visitors would get six-straight baserunners in a seven-run inning that gave them a 13-0 lead with Lewis County coming in for their final at bat. Bria Willcutt would end the Summertown perfect game with a two-out solo homerun that made it a 13-1 game, which would be the final.

Bria Willcutt had the lone hit for the Lady Panthers, a solo homerun in the last inning.

The LCHS lady Panthers traveled to Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, May 4th for the knockout round of the district tournament as they faced the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers.

Lewis County’s Kerrigan Reeves reached on a one-out single, but the Lady Panthers failed to bring a run in in a scoreless first. Reeves took the mound to start and threw a scoreless inning and the game was tied 0-0. Lewis County took advantage of four-straight Lady Tiger miscues followed by an Olivia Smith run scoring single, a Gabii Ortiz sacrifice fly, and a base-clearing double by Reeves and the Lady Panthers jumped out to a 6-0 lead. The Lady Tigers began chipping away at the lead in the home second as a Lady Panther error and a pair of singles would plate a run and make it a 6-1 game. Both teams went scoreless in the third. Smith led off the fourth with a double and came in to score on a sacrifice by Ortiz to give Lewis County a 7-1 lead. it would be the bottom of the fifth before the score would change. Mt. Pleasant would get three consecutive two-out hits and plate two runs to cut the Lady Panther lead to 7-3. Chloe Stewart reached on a two-out double in the top of the sixth but was left stranded. Mt. Pleasant scored a run in the bottom half after a double and a two-out single to make it 7-4 moving into the seventh. After a scoreless inning for Lewis County, the Lady panthers were three outs away from advancing to the second round. After a walk, Reeves retired the next two batters before the Lady Tigers loaded the bases with a pair of walks and tied the game with a base-clearing double and won the game on a fielding error that plated the final run as Mt. Pleasant ended Lewis County’s season 8-7.

Kerrigan Reeves had 3 hits, a double, a run, and an RBI, C.J. Tanner 2 hits and a run, Olivia Smith 2 hits, a double, 2 runs, and an RBI, Chloe Stewart a double, Faith Wishaw a hit, Gabii Ortiz an RBI, Keira Halbrooks a run, and Bria Willcutt a run scored.
