Well it sure is a quiet morning here in our little valley. It is early in the morning and it is already warm and humid. The cats came up early and ate and now they have left, they go down next to the creek where it is a little cooler. The creek is just about dry, there is water in only just a few places. Bob keeps fresh water out for the cats.

I am sitting on the front porch swing and there is a light breeze blowing, it is always comfortable here on the front porch. I just heard a low rumble of thunder back to the west and I can see a dark cloud off in the distance, maybe we will get some rain. Lately when we do get rain it is either a quick heavy rain or most of the time it is just a small shower that is not much more then heavy sprinkles and then the sun comes right back out and dries everything out in a hurry.

I do not know what has happen to all the squirrels and other critters, like rabbits, possums, raccoons, skunks, groundhogs, armadillos and deer, we have not seen any of them lately except for a squirrel or two, there is plenty of things around here for them to eat, lots of apples have fallen off the old apple tree in the yard and there is some acorns and nuts on the trees. Maybe it is just too hot for them to be out.

All of our blueberries are gone, we just recently picked the last ones and there was just enough to make Bob some blueberry jam. We were also walking down near the creek looking at everything and looking for any signs of animals, maybe this year there was just a lot more food in the woods for the animals, some of the news channels have been saying that there has been less feed produced this year for the animals and also less food produced for the people. Of course in the last couple of years it seems common to always hear some kind of bad news.

I guess we all need to work at improving things where we can and be a little more careful about the foods that we are buying and eating, have you ever noticed all the ingredients added to the fast and easy foods that we are buying and eating, for example all the cellulose that is put into things like ice cream and cheese and into lots of dieting foods that we all eat, true it is organic, natural and made from types of plants but it is also insoluble, not digestible and the plants that it is made from mostly are trees, if you have time read up about it and about all the other ingredients added to our food.

There is not as much locally grown food as there used to be, now a days lots of things are grown far away from us. I know we were not able to have a garden this year, but we are all doing better now and maybe we will have a garden next year. I have been able to put some things in the freezer, we went to the Amish and got some corn, they have really good vegetables.

The thunder is getting louder and there is a few sprinkles of rain, I guess I had better get inside and I do have a busy day ahead, I will not be able to hang my laundry out on the clothesline today. After I see what this storm does I will get my lunch started, we are having cabbage, boiled potatoes and pinto beans with cornbread. I may even make a little pot of chicken and dumplings.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God bless.
