A. B. Nicholson was named County Judge following the resignation of W. E. Humphreys.

D. D. Humphreys, Jr. was named General Sessions Judge following the resignation of W. E. Humphreys.

All members of the Ground Observers Corps., in this area, were alerted to maintain an indefinite state of “Standby Readiness,” for a surprise attack as part of training exercises put on by the Air Defense Command to test readiness in military emergencies.

Colonel H. Quillen was presented the Third Army Certificate of Achievement.
