Lewis County Airport Receives State Operating License

Last week, the Lewis County Airport received its official, unconditional operating license from the State of Tennessee. "This is the first time in many years our Airport has received a license without any conditions attached, due to minor, yet very expensive, maintenance-related issues in the past," stated Lewis County Mayor Jonah Keltner. "However, thanks to the hard work of our Airport Manager, Gary Nash; guidance from the Airport Board; support from County Commissioners; and millions of dollars in state grants; the county was finally able to achieve this distinguished recognition."

The Lewis County Airport will be hosting a "Community Day" event in honor of "National Aviation Day" this Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00a .m. There will be a free pancake breakfast while supplies last, a fly-in event, and visitors will be allowed to tour the facilities and take pictures with pilots and their airplanes.
