Friends of the Library Benefit Auction

December 7, 2023

From now until exactly noon on Saturday, December 9th, the Friends of the Library is hosting its 4th Annual On-line Silent Auction to benefit the Lewis County Public Library. Friends president Kelly Medford is very hopeful stating, “Our members have really collected and donated some wonderful things this year!” With more than 30 businesses from four counties contributing, and generous donations from library supporters, there are over 100 items and services up for bid at this year’s auction.

“We have Broadway show tickets, bed and breakfast stays, a brand new BMX child’s bike, and even air duct and carpet cleaning services available,” said Medford. The most unique items up for bid include an autographed photo of Elizabeth Taylor and wood-carving classes from local artists Earl and Sandie Gray.

All proceeds from the auction will go to a special account reserved for the library’s renovation and expansion project that will nearly double the size of the library, update its technological services, and preserve our county’s history in a dedicated space for historical documents and special collections.

Medford promises that “there really is something for everyone in this auction, and knowing it goes to such a great cause makes it that much better.”

Visit the library for assistance or go to new.biddingowl.com/FriendsAuction to start placing bids. Winning bid items will be available for pick up at the Welcome Center depot on Main Street on Saturday, December 16th.
