L to R: District 5 Commissioner Austin Carroll, Chamber Board Member Tawnee Preisner, State Senator Joey Hensley, County Mayor Jonah Keltner, State Representative Jody Barrett, TN Tourism Assistant Commissioner Rural Tourism Melanie Beauchamp, Chamber Director Debbie Landers, Chamber Board Member Todd Montgomery, Chamber President Denise Lee, and County Chief Operating Officer Houston Hamblin.

New tourism signage will be installed soon thanks to $76,000 in state funding.

Lewis County was awarded $76,000 during a competitive state grant process with the Tennessee Department of Tourism to continue investing in county tourism efforts with the Public Access Points at the Buffalo River Blueway and the Natchez Trace.

"The fact that these state dollars are coming to Lewis County to help fund these projects we've been planning shows that Lewis County really is leading the way in tourism efforts in our region. This was a competitive state grant process and only a few other communities were awarded this funding," County Mayor Jonah Keltner stated. "I'm thankful for our partnership with state agencies who see what we're doing in Lewis County and value the efforts being made to enhance the experience of visitors to our great county. I'm also especially thankful for our Blueway Committee who have made this vision a reality."

The Tourism Enhancement Grant will be used to purchase signage at existing Buffalo River Public Access points, as well as new wayfinding signage at key roadway locations throughout the county.

For more information about the grant, please contact Lewis County Government Chief Operating Officer, Houston Hamblin by calling (931) 796-3378 ext. 2052.
