Well it is a cool morning here in our little valley. The weather is trying to change and warm up, they have been forecasting rain with fog and sunshine with frost, but thankfully no more snow and ice until next Winter.

The cats were here early for breakfast They do not like this high March wind, when things start blowing around they get spooked. They ate breakfast and then went and got back in their beds to take a catnap until the wind dies down.

When I went out to feed the cats it looked like snow on the ground, all the high wind had blown a lot of white blooms off of the Bradford pear trees. Those trees really had a lot of blooms on them this year and they still have a lot left on them even after the winds.

Bob is finished with the breakfast dishes and he is out sweeping off the front porch. See having more brooms has paid off, now if I can just get him to do the windows.

I guess a lot of folks are getting ready to plant their gardens, especially planting their potatoes. We have some friends who already have planted their potatoes.

Our son in law Rick, had his tractor going last week plowing and disking. Our daughter Pam and him have two gardens. Last week they brought us some good country eggs, Bob loves having egg sandwiches.

Some peoples chickens are not laying very well right now, I guess some chickens just go through a spell during the wintertime where they stop producing eggs because they are not getting enough daylight or as much food.

We were out getting some things done and went to the grocery store. I have never seen anything like it, from one week to the next prices keep going up Sugar at two of the three stores I went to had gone up a lot. Two of the stores that I shopped at did not have any self-rising flour.

We are hearing more and more about high inflation and shortages, and we are seeing them almost everywhere. Older folks like us have it rough but we have learned ways to help us try and get by during rough times. It is the younger people and young families that have not learned to notice these things that will have it the hardest.

I think more people are having gardens this year. Some people know how to can and preserve their food but a lot do not. When we drive past the fast food restaurants we often see cars lined up in their drive-thrus almost out to the roads.

My daughter Linda came over last week and helped me do some cleaning in my little sewing house. She can organize and we have got it ready for me to start sewing when the weather warms up a little more. During the Spring and summertime I like to spend my time working in my little sewing house and Bob likes to come and sit with me while I sew.

Bob is now enjoying his coffee, and he has got the kitchen spotless and the porch swept. The cats have come back up for a snack.

I have got a busy day planned ahead. During the wintertime when the weather is cold or rainy we like eating soup, so for lunch I am planning on making us a big bowl of homemade vegetable soup and frying up a big pan of good brown cornbread to go with some sweet iced tea.

I am not going to worry about tomorrow and I am going to take one day at a time because God still has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.
