According to the history of our area there should be at least one winter left, the blackberry. There may be others, but I do not know the names of them. We have had some nice weather this past week except for rain almost every day and some nights. The wind has really been blowing and downing some trees and lots of limbs and twigs around the area. Turkey season is here, and many are getting their trophies. There have been lots of turkeys seen around the area.

Those I know of who are sick either at home, in nursing facilities or in the hospitals are: Kasey Baker, Colene Beasley, Linda Butler, Elizabeth Boggs, Gertie Carroll, Spencer Clark, Mary Ann Churchwell, Robert and Pat Dickson, Paula Dyer, Ophelia Green, Betty Hasty, Darrell Hinson, Wanda Holloway, Denny King, Monette King, Lillie Mitchell, Greg McCann, Helen McCann, Brittany Mash, Doug Miller, Howard Miller, Jackie McFall, Joy Orman, Roger Pace, Debbie Pierce, Harry Runions, Marsha Runions, Russell Runions, Lewis Schultz, Johnnie Faye Skelton, Ann Spencer, Terry Stutts, Jeff Tatum, Diane Williams, and Annette Williams. Prayers for these and others who are sick.

We wish a happy birthday to Ellen Henderson, Glenda Roden, Lance Odom, and Nancy Tucker the 19th, Sadie Ricky Carroll, and Heather Odom the 21st, and to Tyler Seiber the 25th. Wishing for all these and anyone I missed a very happy birthday and many more.

Happy anniversary to Kenneth and Jenny Carroll the 20th, and to Ken and Lisa Kauffman the 22nd, wishing for these a very happy day and prayers for many more years to celebrate life together.

Prayers for all those families who lost loved ones this past week. These are the ones I know about Flora May Melton, Elaine Tankersley, Margie Lee Quillen, Allan Ray Warren, Johnnie Eugene Rone, Michael Donavan Brooks, Dennis Wayne Shepherd, Joel Francis Knapp, Christopher Anthoney, McCauley, and Tiffany Ann Bates. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

The softball players have had a hard time getting to play ball with all the rain we have been having and already know they will have to do make up games before tournament time. It seems we have had lots of rain this spring but my dad always said don’t complain about the rain for someday you will be wanting it. I guess we should be glad and not complain.

Wishing for everyone a very great week and that you will be blessed with health and happiness. Remember those who are less fortunate and take time to call, visit, or send a card and especially pray for them.
