Bobby Joseph Johnson

Bobby Joseph "BJ" Johnson, 85, of Hampshire, passed away on March 19, 2024. He was born on February 24, 1939, to the late Charlie Johnson and Cora Matheny Johnson.

BJ, as he was affectionately known, entered the Army at the age of 19 and later worked for GM for 13.5 years before returning home in 1978.

He then pursued a career as a Union carpenter for 45 years, contributing to the construction of notable buildings such as the Hickory Hollow Mall, 100 Oaks Mall, GM/Saturn Plant, LP Field, Nuclear Reactor in Trousdale County, Tennessee, TVA, Brown's Ferry, and Union Carbide.

Alongside his brother, BJ also ran a successful construction company called All Right Construction.

He is survived by his son Bobby (Kathy) Johnson, Jr.

BJ had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and appreciating nature. His dedication to his work and his love for the natural world left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

BJ was laid to rest alongside his family at the Palestine Cemetery.
