Welcome ceremony for Duncan

Confederate Gray Chapter 2681 met Thursday, March 11th with 11 people present.

Items needed were collected to take to the residents of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville. A thank you note was received from the Perry County Food Bank for the monetary donation.

More Vietnam Veteran pins, as well as widow's pins, have been ordered for distribution as a way of honoring and thanking the soldiers for their service to our country.

A Membership Ceremony was conducted by President, Darlene Johns, welcoming Heather Duncan Young into the Chapter upon the service of her great, great, great grandfather, Abisha Curl.

The United Daughters of the Confederacy is the oldest heritage organization in the country made up of the descendants of Confederate soldiers, sailors and patriots. Members have spent over 100 years honoring their memory by various activities in the fields of education, history and charity, promoting patriotism and good citizenship.
