One Day At A Time

Well it is a beautiful morning here in our little valley. It rained last night, now this morning the sun is shining, everything is clean, the trees are greening out and the dogwood trees are almost in bloom. The air is fresh and clean and smells so good. The cats have finished their breakfast and they are sitting in the warm sunshine. I’ve got my cup of coffee and, like the cats, I’m enjoying the sunshine also. Spring is in the air.

Well lately we’ve had some bad weather, terrible thunder and lightning and very hard rain. We watched the creek down behind the house, it would almost come out of its banks, and then the rain would stop and let the water run down and then the rain would come again. We just kept praying.

I remember back a few years ago when we had that big flood, the creek came out of its banks and flooded our back yard. We have some little one room buildings, one of them I call “my little house”- that’s where I sew and quilt. During that big flood the water came up to one inch of going in, but it stopped. Nothing was ruined, we were watching and praying. After the storm was over and the water went down, there laying on the ground in our yard were two planks of wood, laying perfectly in the shape of a cross. We don’t know where they came from or how they got there. We took pictures of them. God does speak to us, if we listen.

I’m ready for warm weather and getting outside. This winter I have gotten a lot of sewing done and really enjoyed watching the snow. I’ve been reading a lot but now I am looking forward to sitting on the front porch wing with a glass of good sweet tea and also doing some work in the yard. I look back on the winter and we had some weather that was worse than I can remember, but we also had some good things happen. Now we’ve had a bad early spring but we also saw some good things. The rain cleaned out the brush in our creek and the ditch beside our house is now clean, no brush or leaves are left. The rain has helped all the beautiful flowers. Our ground and grass needed the water. God knows what is best.

Well back to a beautiful morning, I didn’t hear the old John Deere tractor this morning, but now the grass is getting green and growing. It’s such a beautiful morning. This is going to be a good day for hanging clothes on the line and sweeping porches and opening the windows. Thank God for the fresh air and sunshine.

I’m not going to worry about tomorrow, I will enjoy one day at a time. God has it all under control and He is the light at the end of the tunnel.

God Bless,
