Gordonsburg/Little Swan News

Series: Gordonsburg | Story 180

High winds for several days and some thunderstorms and rain and this week will be the same if the weather predictions are correct. The temperatures have been really mild and even the nights have not been too cool. The trees and shrubs that bloom in the spring are beginning to bloom and guess it won’t be long till the red bud blooms, although their blooms are purple not red. The buttercups which have been really pretty everywhere you see them are beginning to lose their blooms and the daffodils are getting ready to bloom. It looks like spring is here at least temporarily and the time changes this weekend.

These are the ones I know about Harlie Edward Prater, Betty June Risner Warren, Michael Irving Wyrosdick, Annie Ruth Goodman Cotton, Ruth Marie Dallas Castle, Georgie Ann King, Stephine Marie Kapalin Lawson, and James Robert Tacker. Prayers for these families and any others about which I may not know.

Reminder again that the time will change this weekend, I wish they would leave it one way or another, but it doesn’t seem to matter what I think. The woods and along the waterways will soon be vibrant with the bloom of the bluebells, they are so pretty and keep their blooms for so long. There are many other wildflowers and herbs that will be blooming so take time to watch as you drive along the country roads.

We enjoyed a girl’s day out on Saturday, Selina, Jeanea, Kaitlynn, Maria, and I took a drive to Columbia to the Fairy Tales animal farm. There were so many animals to be seen and many could be petted and held. Children especially will enjoy this place. Then we enjoyed a meal at Cracker Barrell, has been a long time since I have been to one of them. We had a wonderful time and the girls were so excited because we did not tell them where we were going until we arrived there.

Wishing everyone a very happy week and other than rain it should be a great week weather wise, enjoy the world around and take time to thank God for all the beauty and blessings He has given us to enjoy.
